Mrs. Ann Suarez

Mrs. Suarez finds great joy teaching third grade at St. Vincent de Paul. She grew up in LaSalle, Illinois and attended St. Patrick’s Church and School. Growing up as the seventh of twelve children, Mrs. Suarez was inspired to act as a teacher to her younger siblings at an early age. She graduated with her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education from Northern Illinois University.  Mrs. Suarez began teaching at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School in 2014.

When she is not teaching, Mrs. Suarez enjoys spending time with her husband, Ron, and their daughter, Gina. Game Night continues to be a favorite past-time with her extended family. At home, Mrs. Suarez can be found cooking new recipes, watching movies and reading books of all kinds. She also enjoys swimming, hiking and watercolor painting. If she were not a teacher, she dreams of being an artist in France or Italy—her favorite vacation destinations.

In the classroom, Mrs. Suarez makes it her mission to help her students realize their God-given talents and strengths, so they are able to develop to their greatest potential. She creates a positive classroom environment where learning is fun and she provides enriching, interactive opportunities, so students are better able to explore and discover for themselves.

Every day, Mrs. Suarez is reminded to live by her favorite Bible verse from Philippians 4:8: “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” The prayer of St. Francis is her favorite because it promotes being an instrument of God’s peace. Being a part of the SVdP family, Mrs. Suarez is encouraged to guide the talents inherent in each child, and to foster a lifelong relationship with our Heavenly Father, which makes her proud to be a SVdP Viking!
