Mrs. Sue Coker

Mrs. Coker is the Resource teacher at St. Vincent de Paul School.  She holds a BA degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University and a Master’s degree in Specialized Education from Illinois State University.  Mrs. Coker has been a member of St. Thomas Parish in Peoria Heights since moving here to Peoria with her family from Springfield, IL during grade school.

Mrs. Coker appreciates the ability to be able to pray, attend weekly Mass and share the faith with her students.  Her favorite saint is St. Clare of Assisi and her favorite prayer is the Hail Mary.

Family time is very important to Mrs. Coker.  She and her husband Matt have four beautiful daughters who keep them busy.  They also share many hobbies, such as gardening, travel and music. In fact, if she was not an educator, Mrs. Coker would have enjoyed being a musician, playing the piano.

Mrs. Coker’s classroom is unique because she gets to work with students of all ages.  She enjoys being a part of so many grade level teams and assisting this awesome staff. “Team work makes the dream work!”  Her classroom is the “Kindness Zone”.
