Scholarships offered through the new “Invest in Kids Act” could cover 50 to 100 percent of tuition and eligible charges for your child next year.  Applications are now being accepted and scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis, so it is very important to act quickly!  Key information about the program and application process is available on


Did you Know? Your child can attend a Catholic School - Financial Assistance Available
Tuition assistance scholarship grants from the endowment fund established as a result of the Diocese of Peoria ROOTED IN FAITH Campaign and named in honor of Archbishop Spalding, the first Bishop of Peoria, will be available for the 2018-19 school year for students enrolled in or intending to enroll in grades Kindergarten through 12 in any Catholic school located in the Diocese of Peoria whose families are active members of a Catholic parish in the diocese. All grants will be based on financial need objectively assessed.

Information about the grants and application materials may be obtained from any Catholic elementary or secondary school in the Diocese of Peoria or on the Diocesan website under Catholic Education and then under Financial Assistance. Consult the "Protocols and Procedures 18-19," and "CheckList 18-19" for all requirements necessary to be eligible for an award.

Parents are encouraged to apply online at: Families of students currently receiving grants are reminded that all grants are for one year only, and anyone seeking to renew a grant for the 2018 - 2019 year must reapply.

Deadline date for the completed application is April 15, 2018. Notification of grant awards will be made by May 30, 2018.

Another funding opportunity is also available due to legislation recently enacted in Illinois. Students may be eligible for up to 100% of tuition and fees under a new program for tax credit scholarships (TCS). Details on how to apply and who qualifies are available on the Empower Illinois website at Students who receive a TCS are ineligible to receive a Spalding award.


Re-Enrollment for 2018-2019 School Year – past due
Re-Enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year was due yesterday, Wednesday, March 21st.  Thank you to those families that have already completed re-enrollment.  If you have not sent in your paperwork/fee, your family is not considered registered for 2018-2019.  Please return to the school office your Tuition Pledge-Subsidy-Volunteer Form, and $75.00 (includes $25 late fee) per family re-enrollment fee (if paying by cash or check) as we would love to have you back with us next year.  To access the demographic forms needed, log into Renweb ParentsWeb (District Code is SVDP-IL), and under the School Information tab, click on Web Forms, “Family Demographic Form.”


Completing Registration during the summer -
The Field Trip Medical and Signature forms are two webforms that are not accessible in Renweb ParentsWeb until June Toward the end of June you will receive a reminder email from SVdP that will include instructions for completing and submitting the final two registration webforms.  Thank you for completing those two webforms this summer when they become available. 


K-7th Grade Spring Pictures – Wednesday, April 11th
SVdP will once again offer the opportunity to have individual K – 7th Grade Spring Pictures taken at school on Wednesday, April 11th by TSS Photography.  (8th Grade students will have their graduation pictures taken the following week).  Students should be well groomed and dressed "head to toe" in colorful dress clothes - red, green, yellow, and light blue work best.  Picture Day is a uniform or dress-up day.  No money is due on this day.  Proofs will be made for you to view, allowing you to choose both the pose you prefer and the portrait package you would like.  You will receive proofs, price information, and order forms approximately two weeks after the portraits have been taken. 


Eighth Grade Confirmation – Wednesday, April 11, 2018
Eighth grade Confirmation with our bishop has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 7:00 PM.  There will be a mandatory practice for your students and sponsors on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 7:00 PM in the church.  Please mark your calendars for these important dates.


Spring Fundraiser Orders Pick-Up – Thursday, April 12th
Thank you to our families who sold magazines, and any of the other numerous items.  This fundraiser provides our teachers support in their classrooms.  Thank you again and please mark your calendar for Thursday, April 12th for the pick-up of your spring fundraiser orders purchased.  Pick-up will be in our school cafeteria from 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM.  Thank you for your orders!


10th Musical Celebration – Saturday, April 14th
Join us for the SVdP Musical Gala- celebrating 10 years.  On Saturday, April 14th at 7:00 PM alumni who have participated in the musical program for the past 10 years will come back to the stage to sing selections from our past musicals (Joseph, Wizard of Oz, Grease, Fiddler and more.)  There will also be a sneak peak of our current production of Back to the 80’s.

Eighth Grade Graduation Pictures – scheduled for Wed. April 18th
As an FYI - eighth grade graduation pictures will be taken on Wednesday, April 18th beginning at 8:30 AM.  More information will follow closer to the date.  


Carol Wake Memorial Scholarship Information – due Mon., April 23rd
The family of Mrs. Wake is inviting all students who are currently in grades 5-8 to apply for a $1,000 scholarship payable to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School and/or Peoria Notre Dame High School.  Information about this scholarship and application were emailed to all 5th-8th students and are available in the school front office hanging files.  All applications and recommendation letters are due to the school office by Monday, April 23rd.  Scholarship winners will be announced at the St. Vincent de Paul “Back to the 80’s” play on opening night, Friday, May 4th.


SVdP Spring Musical – Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th
Rehearsals are underway for Back to the 80’s the Musical.  Students have been learning 80’s dance steps to popular songs such as Thriller, Girls Just Want to Have Fun and Video Killed the Radio Star.  Make sure you have your calendars marked for the first weekend in May (May 4th and 5th) as we jump back to the 1980’s with our 10th anniversary production.


Save the Date – Totus Tuus 2018
With spring approaching, many families will be planning for summer. Be sure to include Totus Tuus, our fun filled Catholic kids camp, in your plans. Totus Tuus will be held at St. Vincent de Paul June 24-28, 2018. Registration information to come.

Donut Sundays
Come over to the Parish Hall after Mass for some fellowship ..... and donuts! Catch up with some old friends and meet some new ones. Donut Sundays follow the 9:00 and 10:30 Masses.
