School Picture Day – next Tuesday, September 15th
TSS Photography will be here next Tuesday, September 15th to take school pictures.  Whether pictures are purchased or not, every child will have a picture taken since it will serve as their yearbook picture.  Ordering instructions are included in the attached flyer entitled, “SVdP Fall Picture Day Ordering Instructions.”  TSS is moving to a view first format for fall pictures.  No prepay and no order forms.  Parents will be sent via email a link to order on the same day or next day with their child's proof images.  There will also be background choice options.  Parents can then order right then, or if they want retakes TSS can do a retake on retake day. 

Picture Day is a uniform or dress up day; however, no open-toed, open heeled shoes (sandals). 

The Parent/Student Handbook states:

Out of Uniform Day

  • Anything appropriate for school may be worn however NO holes in any clothing.
  • Hemlines for dresses and skirts MUST be no shorter than 3 inches above the middle of the kneecap.  NO short shorts; shorts only allowed during August, September, and May.
  • NO pajamas; girls will be allowed to wear leggings as long as it is paired with a mid-thigh length top. 
  • NO hats of any kind. 
  • NO overly exposed shoulders or skimpy tops.
  • NO open toed/open backed shoes

Your orders will be sent directly to your house.  

 

Did you Know?  Your child can attend a Catholic School – Financial Assistance Available

Tuition assistance scholarship grants from the endowment fund established as a result of the Diocese of Peoria ROOTED IN FAITH Campaign and named in honor of Archbishop Spalding, the first Bishop of Peoria, will be available for the 2020-2021 school year for students enrolled in or intending to enroll in grades Kindergarten through 12 in any Catholic school located in the Diocese of Peoria whose families are active members of a Catholic parish in the diocese.  All grants will be based on financial need objectively assessed. 

Information about the grants and application materials may be obtained from any Catholic elementary or secondary school in the Diocese of Peoria or on the Diocesan website www.cdop.org under Catholic Educationand then under Financial Assistance.  Consult the detailed Protocols and Procedures and Checklist for all requirements necessary to be eligible for an award. 

Parents must apply online at:  online.factsmgt.com/aid.  Families of students currently receiving grants are reminded that all grants are for one year only, and anyone seeking to renew a grant for the 2020-2021 school year must reapply. 

Deadline date for the completed application is April 15, 2020Notification of grant awards will be made by the end of June 2020.    

Another funding opportunity is also available due to the Invest in Kids Act legislation in Illinois.  Students may be eligible for up to 100% of tuition and fees under a new program for tax credit scholarships (TCS).  Details on how to apply and who qualifies are available on the Empower Illinois website at www.empowerillinois.org.  Students who receive a TCS are ineligible to receive a Spalding award.
