Our St. Vincent de Paul Feast Week was 9/22 - 9/27.

Our school children participated in so many different activities!

In celebration of St. Vincent de Paul's feast day, the parish had events through the week as well as our school children. St. Vincent de Paul is the patron saint of our parish and school. He had a deep compassion for the poor. Our school children carried out service projects to help the needy. Here is a brief explanation of what each of the grade levels did to help the less fortunate that week:

Kindergarten and 1st Grade: Drew pictures and wrote notes to the sick of our parish
2nd and 3rd Grades: Picked up trash around our school and church and decorated lunch bags for Sophia's Kitchen
4th Grade: Collected Items for the Children's Hospital of IL-St. Jude-Peoria and sponsored a Spirit Shirt day with proceeds go to Sophia's Kitchen
5th Grade: Sang to the folks at Rosewood Nursing Home on Thursday afternoon
6th Grade: Cleaned up the Habitat on Monday and Tuesday
7th Grade: Collected items for Crittenton Centers
8th Grade: Lead a Rosary at Independence Village on Wednesday morning

It was a wonderful week where our students learned from these tasks the importance of giving to those less fortunate. The week concluded on the actual Feast Day with a Prayer Service at our St. Vincent de Paul Statue.
