FIRST Lego League (Sport for the Mind)

The FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is an international competition organized by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) for elementary and middle school students. In August, a new challenge will be announced that focuses on a real-world topic related to the sciences. Teams will be asked to research and complete a presentation on the topic; as well as, build and program a Lego Robot to autonomously complete tasks associated with the topic. Thanks to a generous donation from Caterpillar, St. Vincent students (4th through 8th grade, girls and boys) will learn, work, and compete together in the FLL WORLD CLASS Challenge.

The mission of FIRST is to show students of every age that science, technology, and problem-solving are not only fun and rewarding, but are proven paths to successful careers and a bright future for us all.
