Sports

Boys in grades sixth through eighth can participate in baseball. The season runs from early August through September and is affiliated with the IESA.

The boys’ basketball team is open to all boys in fifth through eighth grades. The season for 5th- 8th grade generally begins in mid-October and ends in January or February.  The seventh and eighth grade boys and girls teams are affiliated with Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA).

Boys and girls in fifth through eighth grade can participate in a co-ed  cross country team at St. Vincent. The cross country season begins in August and runs through October. 

Golf is offered to boys and girls entering sixth through eighth grade. Players often play rounds on their own. In order to compete in IESA sectionals, players must meet a minimum score requirement set by the coach, as well as be able to play a complete 18 holes and carry their own golf bag.

Track and Field is offered as a co-ed team to fifth through eighth graders. As a spring sport, track runs mid-March through mid-May. 

Wrestling is offered to boys in grades fifth through eighth as a co-op with other area Catholic Schools.  The wrestling season begins in December and runs through mid-March. 

The girls’ basketball team is open to all girls in fifth through eighth grades. The girls basketball season begins in early September and concludes by the end of November or early December.  The seventh and eighth grade boys and girls teams are affiliated with Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA).

Girls in seventh and eighth grade can participate in cheerleading. The cheer teams will cheer on their respective grade’s boys basketball teams at both home and away games.

Softball is offered to girls entering sixth through eighth grade. St. Vincent participates in a co-op with St. Philomena, St. Thomas, St. Jude, St. Mary of Kickapoo and Blessed Sacrament of Morton. The season begins at the end of July and concludes in September. 

Track and Field is offered as a co-ed team to fifth through eighth graders. As a spring sport, track runs mid-March through mid-May. 

Girls in fifth through eighth grade can participate in volleyball. Seventh and eighth grade teams are part of the IESA. The season runs from December to March. 

Biddy Basketball is offered to boys and girls in kindergarten through fourth grade at St. Vincent de Paul and St. Mark parish and schools. Kindergarten through second grade levels play together. Third and fourth grade plays together as well. The program intends to introduce the sport of basketball in a fun atmosphere focusing on fundamentals and sportsmanship. The first half of the program will be focused on fundamentals, while the later half of the program will work towards playing games/scrimmaging. The program dates will vary based on gym availability, but usually begins in early March, concluding in early April.

St. Vincent de Paul  is a member of the Peoria Parochial Soccer Association which includes area Catholic and parochial schools. As a parish program, soccer is open to all school and parish children in first through eighth grade.  The teams are co-ed for first through fourth grades. Beginning in fifth boys and girls play on separate teams. The season opens in August and concludes by early October. Soccer registration is completed by the parish coordinator in the spring.
