Miss Mary Greenhood is a music teacher at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School for grades K-6th.  She has been teaching music since 1983 and specifically in classroom teaching since 2008.  Miss Greenhood earned her Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Arts in Vocal Performing at Eastern Illinois University.  She grew up in Peoria and then moved to East Peoria where she considers Crosspoint Church in East Peoria as her home congregation.

Miss Greenhood’s favorite book is the Bible, specifically the Gospel of John.  She usually prays from the scriptures and especially the “Lord’s Prayer.”  Her favorite saint is St. Paul the Apostle as well as St. Francis.

When she is not teaching Miss Greenhood enjoys time at home with her 3 dogs:  Lindy, a beagle/italian greyhound, Darlie, a full beagle, and Fred, a beagle/korgie mix; 4 kittens:  Oscar, Rick, Treasuri and Tigi.  Her hobbies include hiking with her beagles, gardening, and building/creating with wood items for her house.  She also enjoys making gourmet salads, vegan pizza, and curried veggies and quinoa.  If Miss Greenhood was not a teacher she would be a nutrition coach, full-time gardiner, or a performing musician.

Miss Greenhood considers her classroom unique by welcoming and encouraging expression through music.
