Mrs. Winkler is the literature/vocabulary/spelling teacher for our middle school.  She has been teaching for over thirty years.  Mrs. Winkler is a proud graduate of Bradley University, Go Braves, where she received her BA in Elementary Education.  She also received her Master’s in Education from Aurora University.  Mrs. Winkler, her husband, Paul, and two boys are members of St. Vincent de Paul parish.  Both of her boys – John and Patrick, are proud graduates of Saint Vincent de Paul and Peoria Notre Dame.  The Winkler boys have been very blessed to have had such an excellent Catholic education.

In Mrs. Winkler’s classroom she promotes kindness and love!!  The Catholic values are highlighted in the literature her students read.  She instills in her students those Catholic values and how they are important in everyday life!  Mrs. Winkler’s favorite saint is Saint Therese and her favorite prayer in the Hail Mary.

When Mrs. Winkler is not teaching or spending time with her family she loves to shop, read books, sit in the sun, travel, or go out to eat!  If she didn’t teach Mrs. Winkler would like to be a personal shopper.

“Courage, Kindness, Friendship, and Character – These are the qualities that define us as human beings, and propel us on occasion, to greatness!”  R.J. Palacio – this is taken from a new novel called Wonder that Mrs. Winkler teaches in her classroom.  She loves this quote and encourages her students to live this out on a daily basis.
