Originally from South Georgia, Ms. Ginny was raised there before serving in the United States Army in Wiesbaden, Germany. After returning to Georgia, she worked in the financial and healthcare fields before moving to Peoria in 2022. Shortly after arriving, she joined the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School family, where she has joyfully served in the lunchroom.
She attended Columbia College in Missouri, earning an Associate’s degree in General Studies before continuing her studies in Criminal Justice with a minor in Child Psychology. Her diverse life experiences have given her a unique perspective and a genuine love for serving others.
While many think of the lunchroom simply as a place to eat, Ms. Ginny sees it as an opportunity to build community. She strives to create a welcoming environment where students can laugh, socialize, recharge, and simply enjoy being together. Her hope is that every child leaves the lunchroom not only with a full stomach but also feeling seen, valued, and cared for through simple acts of kindness and conversation.
Her favorite saint is St. Patrick, and her favorite prayer is the Prayer of St. Francis, whose message of peace and compassion inspires the way she serves others each day.
Faith has been a journey of growth throughout her life. Raised in the Presbyterian church and later worshipping in a non-denominational Christian community while serving in the military, she experienced seasons of both uncertainty and deep trust. During one of the most difficult times in her life, she encountered a ministry that transformed her understanding of faith. From that moment forward, she learned to trust completely in God’s plan, believing that His purpose is always greater than her own. Through life’s many challenges, including walking alongside her children through health struggles, losing her parents, and facing her own battle with cancer, she has continually witnessed God’s faithfulness, healing, and abundant love. She is grateful that His journey has led her to St. Vincent de Paul, where she has the privilege of serving students and families each day.
Outside of school, Ms. Ginny enjoys spending time with her son, Tusker, and daughter, Juliana, especially over coffee dates and family board games. She also loves repurposing old items into something new, exploring waterfalls and the mountains, and watching trains
